What are Meta-Tags?

Meta-tags are those things that most search engines use in order to determine what your site is really about. There are 3 primary sets of meta-tags that concern us, namely the Title, the Description and Keywords. These meta-tags are located within the HTML code on a page and are largely invisible to users of your site, unless they know where to look.

These three meta-tags also have to be located within the Head region of your web pages HTML code or they will be ignored by most search engines.

There are other different meta-tags that can be used but they are of little or no significance in website optimisation from a search engine point of view.

Each page on a website can have its own set of unique meta-tags. It is in fact desirable that every Page has it own unique meta-tags that are specifically pertinent to that page!

This is a lot of boring work and it is no wonder that the vast majority of web designers overlook this vital aspect to web site success.

Rapid Meta-Tags does this boring job for you, without robbing you of the power to manually override or adjust the work that Rapid Meta-Tags does for you.
